Welcome
to a holistic one-week training on:
- participatory
education for sustainable development (ESD) and holistic
workshop designs,
including head (theory),
hand (practice) and heart (vision, team
and group building);
- raising students' ecological awareness and inspiring behavioural changes of
citizens in the EU;
- working with
and teaching green technologies,
mainly related to private consumption and the housing sector.

The
training will comprise interactive
teaching about:
- how to create holistic
learning
experiences with different methodologies of participatory
teaching;
- the 'Be The
Change – Symposium' as a holistic, interactive technology for
raising socio-ecological awareness and active citizenship
- the Ecological Footprint
as a tool to educate individuals of all ages and educational background
about Europe's as well as individuals' contribution to climate
change;
- the holistic concept of Integral Ecology.
- the European
Transition
Town Movement, a growing network of active citizens
and of people working in ESD;
- modern
Sustainable Technologies in the
housing sector, including:
* solar systems for
heat and electricity,
* fresh water and waste water management,
* natural building and strawbale construction,
* regenerative heating systems,
* shared facilites
for mobility.

In
the 'Ecovillage of Sieben Linden' many effective solutions
in the different sectors as nutrition, housing, energy and water
supply, and mobility are being successfully used and can be studied on
site.

The course will also include
- phases of
working and sharing knowledge in groups also inviting peer learning and teaching amongst
participants;
- a world cafe as a way to
invite collective creativity in ESD;
- an Open Space as a method
for peer teaching in ESD;
- a variety of “ice-breakers”,
warming up games and group building elements;
- guided tours concerning
different sectors of green technology;
- short movies illustrating different topics;
- a meeting with the regional
transition initiative and an excursion to a local supply company
of regenerative energy;
- evenings will be dedicated to meeting and exchanging for intercultural awareness;
- intentional breaks for personal and group reflection on how and what
to integrate into participants' own teaching will be part of the course
design.

Pre-registration is completely unbinding.
After final confirmation from your side this confirmation stays unbinding until May 12, 2012;
cancellation between May 13 and May 26, 2012 is
charged with a cancellation fee of 150 Euro. Cancelling later or not
coming to the course at all is charged with 300 Euro.
